Anybody run a side exit exhaust?
Just thinking out loud here. I was looking at the HT3B I just got (wow it's large) and it has a 5" outlet. I hear that on the four wheel drives a full 5" exhaust is a little difficult to do, so I was wondering if you could just have the exhaust exit out the side past the front wheel? I imagine it would be very loud.

3b's are quiet in twins and have the nicest whine/hum to the exhaust and compressor. They just sing. That being said a 4" exhaust will handle all you can put through it. 5" is not an absolute necessity.

a good friend of did it to his ford it comes out the side of his body pannel right in front of the rear tires, the only thing is the smoke turned everything black past that point black including his nice custom rims,he changed it all after he noticed that, just something to think about.

I'd like to do that, if I could bring the exhaust out OVER the frame. I'd probably rip it off going under. Make room for another fuel tank where the muffler currently resides.
I bet 100 gallons of fuel on board would make it ride better!

Mine exists out the passenger side in front of the rear wheels. I have running boards that is goes under. I've had no issues with heat and being a dually I think that's why I don't get much soot on my wheels or side of my truck.
