Allison
Met one here in town with an Allison in a first jen for 5 years, when he wore out the truck 1.6 mill. miles he pulled the tranny and sold it used for 950, motor was still running but weak on the hills. He bought a 97 12v next.

Guy over in the next county has an Allison in a 1st Gen.
He had to install a small electric air-compressor and air-tank, something to do with shifting.
The transmission is bigger than the engine.

mine is almost 400lbs dry and holds 9gal of ATF and uses 5/8" cooler lines. Converted it to manual shift and lots of cryo treated parts and a very low stall converter. Whin I put it in 3rd it is in 3rd not 1-2-3. I have messed with many Allisons and never seen one with air shift. Usualy cable or electric. The 545 is a 4spd, mine has no lock up converter but some do.
