Any interest in a cheap bypass oil centrifuge?

still salivating for info over here ... my car needs this upgrade as well ... takes 7 quarts for a flipping oil change on the thing.
just started poking around on this issue ... it's crazy PPE price on their website $869.99, extreme diesel for the same exact kit $584.99 ... http://www.xtremediesel.com/ppeoilce...rationkit.aspx

Fleetguard actually makes a centrifuge for 5.9/6.7 and it is pretty reasonable from cummins. You will have to buy the lines and fittings. Extremely easy to service and similar in design to the Mack factory unit.

where did you get the centrifuge, does it have a brand name? I need one but did not want to pay $500 for one either. I have an 02 cummins 6spd, nice truck. I am handy with things and can put on hoses also. I was looking at the spinnerII website and they pull a plug out of the block just below the turbo to put the drain hose into. Looks better than some other places or a pump to return oil. I now have a 1 micron cartrige filter that i get from granger for $6.50 but you have to add 1 quart of oil and i think that it is not big enough. Adding oil also resupplies your additive package which is a good thing but it takes away from the efficiency, especially if it is synthetic.

A 1 micron cartridge filter for $6.50? That I find hard to believe.
Haven't heard of anyone making a 1 micron filter - and if they did, I seriously doubt that it would be that low of a price.
The AMSOIL Spin-on is rated for 2 microns.
I guess the Frantz filter (which goes to less than 1 micron - but due to the variance in brands of TP is hard to rate) is technically a cartridge, but if you are paying 6.50 per "TP cartridge" then that is some awfully expensive bum wipe.

Darn Maine-iacs......I miss the few years I lived there, great people and a great state!
I did a little DIY for the centrifuge finaly. Sorry its not on a first gen, or even a cummins for that mater. Hopefully one of you guys can build a kit on your cummins and do a DIY write-up to be a sticky. I dont think mine is sticky material, and I wont be putting a centrifuge on my cummins any time soon because its a 1/4 mile toy, wont see many miles, and I dont want to add weight.
