Any Experience with Treadwright?
I don't drive this great truck as much as I'd like. I have trouble rationalizing $1000+ for a set of tires when I only drive 10,000 miles or less a year. Treadwright looks like a tire worth trying and I'm going to order a set of thier axiom 235 85R 16's for the truck. Just wanted to ask if anyone has any tales to tell about pros or cons to this decision?

off topic, have you looked for new tires on craigslist? people always buy new then dont end up using them for one reason or another and you can buy them for 50 cents on the dollar typically.

They are made the same way brand new tires are made so technically they're not a recap, more of a retread. Since the tread is stamped into the hot rubber after the sidewall has been cured to tread slab...recaps are already molded chunks of rubber they bond onto a carcas.
Oh and Treadwright only uses MICHELIN, BFG, Goodyear, Bridgestone carcasses (only the best brands)......my buddy's Guard dog M/T tires are on Michelin LTX A/S carcasses which are a load class E highway tire typically LOL. He's the only one around to have a michelin mud terrain that's for sure.
Check out TreadWright's facebook page.

Here's a real good thread, notice about 1/2 way down a guy with a Dually Ford chimes in and said they worked good for towing....http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f15/t...inion-1031365/
Here's some reviews from the Chevy truck forum i'm an active member on...
Page 3 has the good stuff- http://www.fullsizechevy.com/showthr...ht=Treadwright
Typing in treadwright tires reviews on Google brings up a pretty good amount of info on them....

My dad has those exact tires on his truck and has been very pleased. They provide very good customer service, and they replaced one or two tires that had and issue with bad casings (body of tire...NOT the retread portion) with no problems or extra charge.
My brother has a set on his truck, and I just put a set on my truck last week.
It's hard to beat the price and service if you ask me.
