antifreeze leak

antifreeze leak

been suspicous for the last month but discovered today antifreeze leak rite by the thermostat housing. now i dont know if it the head gasket or thermostat rubber. so will change thermostst gasket, but my question is , i only changed head gasket last year, good cummins gasket. should it have been retorqued? if so what do you torque the bolts to?

IIRC there are a couple of coolant hoses right behind the T-stat housing by the oil cooler/ trans cooler (if an auto) that get old and dry rot then leak as well. Might want to take a look while you are there.

As for a re-torque? IDK but someone else will be by with a definitive answer.

if you prepped the head and block surfaces good and clean and tq,d to 120-125 ftlbs a tq shouldnt be needed but it is a good idea.
