Another Tach Wiring Thread
A while ago, I installed a 4-gauge pod on the top of my dash and did some quickie wiring any time I added a new gauge to the pod. My wiring and gauges all work properly, but I've finished the whole set now and want to make up a harness with all the connections and gauges accounted for, nicely routed and wire wrapped, etc. My truck is a '93, which came factory with a tach connector taped away next to the column. Everyone including ISSPRO, uses female spade connectors to tap into this factory connector; but I would like to do better and use the correct OEM connector. Individual spade terminals could work their way loose over time, and accidentally changing the order of the leads could damage my gauge or even the ECU. When I originally researched how to wire up the tach, someone suggested getting the right connector from Pick-n-Pull from a Dodge Dakota(?) for some kind of lighting(??). For the life of me, I haven't been able to find this thread again or find the connector by looking through "Dodge Dakota Connectors" in Google Images.
The connector I need has 4 pins, is flat, with retaining lugs on the sides, and a pair of indexing ridges on the top. A 3 pin version of this connector is used for the map light in the dash on our trucks, but I can't find the 4 pin anywhere.
If someone has seen the original post too and can link it here, or knows what connector I need and where I can get it, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!
