I suppose I mis-spoke. I should have said "recommended". It meets API GL-4 specifications and replaces GM part #12346190 and Chrysler part #4874459.
BTW, "recommended" is by Amsoil. I doubt Chrysler and GM would recommend you use anything in the transmissions other than their high priced oil.

You get what you pay for (Amsoil - NOT!)

Did you know that New Venture contracted Castrol to develop Syntorq specifically for the NV4500 in the Cummins application?

I have the getrag... which amsoil product are you using? There are a bunch of them but none specifically for the manual transmission...not 5w-30w anyway.... according to their website....

I LOVE Amsoil's products. I run it my Ford IDI and had it in the Dodge, It is amazing how much of a difference the Getrag runs with 5 qt's of synthetic, I put Mobil1 5W-30 synthetic in ( to clean it out for Amsoil install) before the accident and If I was running quarter miles times I could have easilly picked up 3 seconds plus! The trans shifted smoothly and MUCH quicker, not to mention the 5th gear grind disapeared. Think the synchro was almost dead.

The shifter method of filling is not that hard. Its just easier to have 2 people 1 to hold the base in the shifter in the trans the other put the snap ring in. My biggest problem was my snap ring pliers bent so it took me an hour just get the snap ring back in. I eventually removed the shifter tower from the base piece of the shifter and put one foot on the base piece to keep it in place while putting the snap ring in.
