I wish I could find similar data for 92-93. The 8" frames I have are still 7" under the cab... then from the upward slope and to the leaf spring hanger they measure 8". I'll see if I can get a thickness measurement off a not-so-rusty spot. (I have 131" and 149" WBs)
Hey thanks, that link has good info. And I would really appreciate your measurements!

I've got rust scale on just about everything... but .210" is what I'm calling it. That's all my 89-93 cummins trucks - 6" or 8" frame.

My '75 D300 crew seems to be thicker, closer to the full 1/4".

Thanks for getting the measurements and helping me out!

So I think a regular cab frame would be able to take more weight being same channel dimensions and same thickness as a Club cab. Thinking in way of payload and towing

Yes, the std cab leaves more room on the table for payload.

That said, the 6" frame (std cab) can easily handle the 8510# GVWR... its just soooo easy to load higher because the engine will move it. I load up to 4500# payload in my clubcab (8" frame) whenever I need to.

The weak link IMHO is the 2wd suspension and stopping - especially an auto. Also watch for rear leaf spring hangers ready to tear off!

Okay, I just measured my three truck frames I have here- and they are all 8". 92 4whl drive half ton gasser, 92 2whl drive gasser 1ton, 92 CTD 1 ton dually, What give here fellas? I oddly logged on today to ask this question.

Another question, will 4whl axels drive train bolt on to the 1 ton 2whl frame? The best cab and frame I have is the 92 1 ton 2whl drive gasser.

True, I had 4,000lbs of dirt on my reg cab 6" frame W250 and it felt solid.
I recently heard a D350 DRW 8" reg cab had almost 5,700 lbs payload, that is plenty of capacity!
My 2002 Cummins QCLB 2500 only has 2,000 lbs payload!

Is the 92 1/2 ton 4x4 is club cab? Longer wheelbase got taller frames, and in 92 maybe they retired the 7.25" frame my '90 W150 Club cab has.

4X4 conversion requires the 4x4 engine crossmember and leaf spring brackets and shock mounts, several holes may need to be drilled. See if you got the shackle mount holes just in front of the frame cab mounts

An interesting bit of info on D/W150 "1/2 ton" Club Cab trucks. This weekend, I looked at a 1993 D150 Club short bed (133" WB) and it had an 8" frame height (behind cab) with material thickness of 0.194" (measured w/ calipers)

Thats cool. What country was it built in? (1st vin digit). Rear leaf spring bolt size?

Wonder if the wheelbase match made them choose to use the std cab diesel frame on the club.

I didn't check VIN, rear leaf bolt appears 5/8"

There is not a wheelbase match to reg cab, those are 131", while Club short bed is 133" with frame rails that are 2" shorter overall length because short bed has 4" less rear overhang than a long bed, something I just learned.

But it appears they used the same engineering, material thickness and channel height as 92/93 Cummins

Right... 131 vs 133.

Nice find... the gas 92-93 W250s (std cabs) I've come across so far have had the thinner 6" frames.

My '93 D250 LE (longbed, extended cab) frame is 7" under the cab, 8" under the bed and measures .220" thick.

Thank you for the data point.

Makes sense Club cab long bed 149" WB would jump to .220" material thickness vs .194" for 131"/133" WB
