I remember reading somewhere that Borgeson steering boxes were re-boxed Cardone units. The gist of the story was that the person making the comment worked for them at one point and one of his jobs was to take parts out of Cardone boxes and put them into Borgeson boxes (with the appropriate mark up of course). I have no way to confirm this but I remember reading it on another forum.

Not surprising to me either. I've read some cases where a "new" Borgeson box leaks from the beginning.
