Advice on mods please

Got a 92 3/4 ton with 5 spd. Totally stock other than air cleaner and twin stacks. Have a 34 tri-axle gooseneck that I pull from time to time. What mods would you recommend ? Thinking about the 3200 spring and a 16 cm housing. It's got the 21 cm housing on it now. I would like an honest 250- 275 horse and 600 ft pounds. Should I get a different turbo as well? What are your thoughts? Just don't want to get the wrong stuff and be unhappy

Get some gauges first. At least a pyro. Then checkout the sticky for some pump mods that should get you close to your goal.

16cm Housing might be a little slow to light but will work and be a big improvement from the 21cm. 3200spring is a must for the 5sp and makes a world of difference in drivability.

How do u like that 14 cm wastegated housing? Dumb question but I'm new to the diesel scene, Does the wastegated housing "blow off" (make that air noise) frequently or what exactly is its purpose?

3200 RPM spring definitely, grind the fuel pin and turn up the pump. Should get you there power-wise without buying injectors. For that power level on a 5 speed, a 12 cm wastegated housing is a great setup. Get a used HX-35 or build a nice hybrid.

Where does one get a 12 cm wastegated housing and what do they cost. This setup should work the best on my 5spd? EGT's a problem pulling heavy with the 12 cm wastegated. Does it fit the H1C or do I need a HX35? Thanks for all you're input.

With a 60mm compressor (stage IV upgrade) and a 12cm2 gated housing, 250 should be do-able on stock injectors. What was said above, EBAY, junk HX35 and a good compressor. You'd be in the neighborhood of 225-250.

Sorry I didn't get to this one sooner, I missed it yesterday. The wastegate is internal, it dumps exhaust out of the turbine inlet into the downpipe, bypassing the turbine. It's controlled by boost pressure, when pressure gets too high the wastegate opens and dumps some exhaust to slow down the turbine. Make sense?
