adjusted throttle linkage and wow!
I finally adjusted the throttle linkage and high idle screw and all i have to say is wow ( i left a little screw to act as a just in case). It made the truck totally different. I would say its almost as much difference as before i started throwing parts on it from stock. I can finally use that rpm that the 3200 should have given me, i was missing out on about 400-500 rpm. But as in all good things there is a bad, and as most can guess what my problem is, i have a little excessive heat. at WOT i can go from about 500* to about 1400* in a blink of an eye. Now of course i can control this with the throttle but that kinda of sucks. I have the fuel screw all the way in BTW. I use my truck not as my daily driver but I do tow with it, my tractor about 8,000 lbs, and my tracked skid steer about 11000. lbs, plus trailer. As another BTW i am running about 37psi at WOT.
What should i do?
These are some things I had in mind.
- PDI exhaust mani, ported
- 7.3 intercooler
- maybe a cam i was thinking helix 2 but i am unsure that it'll be worth it.
- water meth system but i don't want something else to deal with if i can get away with it.
Some other things unrelated that i would like yall's opinion on.
-longer fuel screw but i dont think this will do anything since im already all the way in and if it does im sure itll add to my heat problem.
- 60# valve springs for some safety
- low pressure piston lift pump
I would like to thank you guys, thanx to you i am more than happy with my truck and continually the guys around here off that think the old first gens turds.

sounds like you need more air. Bigger turbo will make a huge difference over a stock one. A bigger intercooler/pipes does help. I would get it cooled down enough before you started to add more fuel.

Well I don't have a stock turbo, I have a pdr modified hx35. Do you think something like a hx40 or s300 or what. I would like to keep the low end spool up.
