ABS and brake light on

The ABS and brake light come on when I am idleing, but when I give it a little gas they go off. They never come on when I am driving just when I stop. Brakes feel good and the heater works great. What could be the cause of this?

Mine does the same thing. If I rest my foot on the brake peddle while stopped, sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn't come on. I had to replace the pick-up in the differential housing about 4 months ago. Before that, it stayed on all the time. I think it might have to do with the distance between the pick-up and the ring gear slots. If the lights are on, I can move the truck ever so slightly (changing the position of the ring gear) and the lights go off....

Get a Mityvac or similar vacuum pump. Remove the hose from the vacuum pump on your engine and start working your way up the system. Connect the pump at each junction until you can pull a vacuum. That will help you isolate the bad section. Thankfully our trucks don't have a lot, just the HVAC controls, the brake booster, the cruise servo, and the low vacuum warning sensor.

You can do like Wanna said or, I had luck finding my leak by running the truck for a few then killing it with the shut of lever while I was near the booster resivior and listen for the leak. Mine was bad enough that I found it straight away.
