I'm pretty sure you can use the 4x4 tail housing from a NV4500. Since you can use the Getrag unit on a NV4500, I would make the assumption it would work in the other direction as well?
You can buy new cast iron tail housing for the NV4500 on E-bay.
You got a 23/29 coupler? When I checked not long ago they said they were out of stock?
