I agree, when I need a new GV whenever that day comes the 800 is a plug and play deal, and worth the money.

looking for some clarification here, it sounds like people are saying its possible that my pedal has full travel, but the actual engine is not being throttled completely, it appears to me that the pedal on the floor cannot move, without moving the throttle on the engine, am I incorrect here?

You could have some slop or the linkage is just out of adjustment. Have somebody mat it while you watch the linkage.

I am assuming it is correct, I have the same tach as you do, which is weird on my case.
RichieO, what is weird, too is that not long ago I had another 1st gen, with all the power mods shown and done as the one I have now in my sig, except it was a D250. It, too, had the 3200 spring along with another isspro 4 k tach, and that, too, made no more than 2300 rpm's. I also purchased the wiring kits for both tach's from isspro to adapt to our wiring harness. I have no other way to check my rpms. My truck idles at 750 w/ ac, and up to around 775 w/o ac. I like for it to idle higher than normal. How do I check for full throttle travel? My cable has no slop at the pedal, and I moved my throttle linkage bar to the smaller hole on the pump, you know, the hole that used to have the return spring clipped on. Any more advice?

With the truck off, Get someone to floor it while you're under the hood and see if the throttle linkage comes back and hits that screw i pictured. Did you back the screw out??

Also you may have indexed your thorttle shaft wrong and not you're not getting full rotation of the throttle shaft in the pump.

I'll have to notify rebal, as he gave me a hand in the 3200 spring install and pick his brain on this indexing thing. Thanks

I was surprised to see people still posting on this post, I backed out that limiting screw pictured above a few months ago, it made no change to the performance of my vehicle, I did verify that the throttle WAS hitting the stop before, and now after backing the screw out, the throttle stops on something else ( internal limits maybe?) but does not travel far enough to hit the new location of the backed out screw, and also does not travel far enough to hit the fuel line as mentioned above.

Still get that feeling around 70-75 MpH that something is wrong with the truck and it wont go faster.

I recently ( about a year ago) moved into a building to perform repairs from so I havent been running mobile repairs so this has been less of a nuisance for me, But i would really love to understand what is going on with my truck, mostly why it acts differently than everyone elses and has no change when backing out the screw.

Thanks in advance

My truck, if I just floor it (in any gear except maybe 5th because I just don't drive that fast) will start shuddering like a **** once it hits the governor. Feels like it's trying to tear itself apart.

Generally I don't let it do that.

this sounds like what mine does, I'm just confused as to why i hit the governor before 90 Mph like others, and/or why my truck won't go 90Mph. I really only concerned with getting to a comfortable 80, instead of a "rough" 75 like it is now.

I'm sorry I don't remember, but have you changed your governor spring?

That could be it, or maybe people have oversized tires. Or maybe their speedos are off. It's confusing when you're asking quaestions based on a particular setup when there are any number of other setups. Tire size, gearing, transmissions, governors, etc...

I've never run my truck up over 90 before and I've got highway gears on mine, larger tires than stock and the 3200 rpm spring.

Something simple nobody really mentioned yet is to take up the slack in your throttle cable. Reach up under your dash, and tug where the cable passes through the pedal assembly, while pushing the top back against it's rest. My truck has a 1" long pipe nipple taking up the slack there was so much there.

Another thing to mention is moving your throttle linkage to the inside hole. Those 2 mods, and removing the high-idle screw, set my trucks top speed way higher than I'll ever go. Even though mine has 3.07s, it can only help you as well.

ill check for slack in the cable, but that really doesnt seem to be my issue, i have more "pedal" that i could use, just pressing it doesnt seem to do anything but add noise, not fuel. I'll post back in a day or two after checking the cable and seeing about moving the throttle linkage to the second hole. Thanks guys !!

I had my 90 with 5 speed and 3.55's burry the speedo once I backed of n havn't gone above 120km/h since. It didn't shake or rattle n was only around 2600 rpm's but I personally didn't feel safe. Get some taller gears in those diffs problem solved.
