92 rear breaks

I think the rear breaks on the truck are 2.5 inch. I was wondering if I can put 3 inch using the same drums.

thanks

Hi Gary-
Since you have a 1 ton, they ought to be 3" even though you don't have a dually. If you have the 2.5" shoes, you can use the same drums but you will need to have them turned first.

When are we doing that governor spring?

Hi Dave

Thanks again for your info. I will have to check to be sure but I think the last time I put brakes on the thing they measured 2.5. I thought they were on the small side. With pullin the fifth wheel I thought I would go to the 3 inch if I could get em on.

Yeah I've had the spring since we spoke a while ago. Maybe next Sunday if your available. Not this weekend the second of Oct. if that works for you.

She seems to run up to 3200 anyway. I don't know how strong she pulls through the 2600 gov. but she will go to 3200. Like you said with the pump work and the spring she will pull better huh.

Talk to ya later
