I recently purchased this truck and it is in very good condition but needs some TLC. I have a few questions and hope that someone could help.

How do make the Turbo louder? (the whistle)
Where can I purchase a grill guard?
Also where can I purchase the new plastic moulding for the top of the bumper.
Where can I purchase the weather stripping for the doors and windows?

Welcome to DTR, Allen.

I moved your thread over to the 1st gen board so it would get more response.

For a louder turbo, you need to swap on a turbo off a 2nd gen or get a compressor upgrade kit from HTT or Gillett (Stage III is the one you want, don't waste money on less).

There's not a lot of aftermarket support for our trucks, but maybe somebody knows where you can find a grille guard. Weatherstripping is available from JC Whitney. The bumper trim is a dealer item.

The best way to make the turbo louder is to get rid of your muffler

Check buckstops website, I think they sell a gaurd for our First Gens...

 

Thanks for responding, Someone said there is a silencer ring you can pull out of the Turbo to increase the whistle.

Allen welcome to the club. The Silencer ring you are referring to is on the 2nd Generation truck 94+, our trucks do not have that. You could get a BHAF (big haken air filter) and make a Old Smokey Mount (remove your airbox in favor of more air to the turbo) which will make the turbo louder. Look at the top of threats and you will see a heading marked "STICKY" check that out it will give you ideas from leveling your 2wd to upgrading your turbo housing. There is a lot of free tricks in there that will get you started on a very slippery slop down hill to the land "never enough mods". Also no question is a stupid one so if you are unsure about something or need advice ask and some one will help you.
