91 Non-Intercooled/92 Intercooled merge?
I have a 91 Non- intercooled w250, 5 speed, 300000 miles. Over the weekend I purchased a 92 Intercooled wreck that I plan to pull 3.54 Anti Spin axle, brakes, springs, clutch, a bunch of interior parts, glass, and so on. I think all this stuff will work on my 91. I have that intercooler and all the factory hoses just lying there looking at me. My first thought was to just put it on. However, I noticed what I believe to be a ECM under the driver front fender. I don’t have this on mine. I hope I don’t need to move that thing to mine. The main question in this post is this. What all can I move to my crank window base 91 w250 from the wrecked 92 w250 LE? Things I’m interested in moving are:
1. Power windows
2. Cruise
3. Intercooler
4. Power mirrors
5. Tilt steering
6. Complete rear end including springs
7. Brakes
8. Brake booster
9. Master cylinder
10. Carpet
Oh the wrecked truck also came with a new in the box Turbo from Turbodriven.com I’ve not opened it yet to see what size and all that. Ill post it when I get home from work later.

I would think that if you took the wiring harness our of the wrecked one, everything else would work. I am unsure about the ecm, but I would think that it would be needed too.

everything should bolt right in place if not maybe pre-drill a hole that wasn't drilled out on your truck. I believe that ecm is for the anti-lock brakes, the voltage regulator on your truck is external and i think on a 93.. its in the computer. That would be the only reason for a need to switch over when changing the harness. I'm still learning about all the different years because i'm in the middle of a cummins powered ramcharger.

For what you plan on switching out i wouldn't worry about it.
The intercooler is going to require a different radiator, if the radiator support is any good you should switch those too otherwise you are going to need to hack yours to pieces and forget about it if you have factory ac, unless you don't mind the heat.

Cruise is going to require you to swap wiring harnesses. That's the easiest way to get the PCM in and happy. You'll also need to add the crank sensor so the PCM knows the engine is running.
You'll need to add the air temp switch for the IC engine and then use a relay to get your KSB working, the KSB works opposite on the two pumps.
The cruise also requires a column swap, but you wanted to do that anyway.
For the intercooler, you'll need a different intake horn, the IC one interferes with your injection lines. A 24 valve one will work though.
Everything else is simple.

Will look at my IC and NON IC otors tomorrow, but when I took the IC off a 93 and went to NON IC on the motor, all I did was turn the intake plate around, and install the NON IC crossover and turbo. Was going to start going the opposite on my NON IC tomorrow, as it only has 84K miles compared to my IC which has 220K+ (where odometer quit) Will see what all is different and try to post back.

Ok, so now im not looking to do a whole lot....lol. Na i knew it was gonna be more complicated than just bolting it on. I knew I would have to cut holes in the grill housing. I looked at the New turbo that came with the truck. Its a Schwitzer S300G071 from Borg Warner at Turbo Driven.com. Its new in the box. What do you guys think about just adding it turning up the fuel and not installing the IC? Im starting to think I need to switch cabs before paint...lol

I say go for the intercooler, its a few bolts holding the support in place. I don't care for power windows my self but do like to have them sometimes. Then as wanna said get a 24v intake horn and you'll be going in the right direction.

Im going to start the stripping of the 92 this evening. Im sure I wont get as far as I want to since were having rain showers here today. I got a guy wanting the engine, told him I was gonna use the IC and all the intake stuff. He assured me he didnt need all that. What are 12 valves with 238k on them bringing?

hey-hey!!!,
Power windows are easy; the crank-window'd wiring harness has the female connectors there for it. You'll just need to run the harness from the doors to it( though that will be a bit ov a fishing job in an intact truck). When you take the LE apart you'll see where to look for the bits on the crank'd truck.

I been reading on some og the other forums, they are saying that this s300g(174430) turbo has a lot of lag in it. Im not drag racing or anything, but dont want it to take forever to spool. Anyone in here use one of these things on a first gen?
