Are you sure abot that? Chrysler started to use locking TC's in about 79-81, if my memory serves me. I recal it was later in the trucks, but I don't know for sure.

Maybe in cars but I am 110% positive that the CTD/a518/727 tranny does not have a locking TC. In 94 2nd gen new body style with the 47rh(?) had the locking TC.

hey a new dtt 91% is just as good or better than lockup anyway

I can tell you guys that the conversion to a NV4500 is close to $6000 - I just priced it, and then I dang near crapped myself... That was with all new parts, but I'm not sure I'd go through all the trouble of doing it with used parts, either.
I'm currently investigating a conversion from my 518 to a 47RH (618), which will also allow a 1st gen diesel to have a lockup converter...
