91.5's fuel milage
#31
I remember a few years ago , seeing a kit for heavy trucks that metered a set ratio of used motor oil into the diesel oil. If I remember correctly, it was advertised as much as a way of disposing of the used oil as a way of using free fuel. It was supposedly warranty-legal. In fact it may even have come from one of the truck or engine manufacturers.
I can't find the literature now, so I can't remember the details, like how much used oil was added and how it was pre-treated. Can anybody help with this one? Is this system possibly still in use? If not, is it because it isn't good for the engine, or because the EPA doesn't like it?

I've gone up to a 75/25 mix(oil,ULSD), like others have said you need to clean in before it goes in you tank, I filter through a 5 micron filter, and I always run some sort of fuel additive. I always change my fuel filter, every oil change, and I've had some injector issues. SO you need to offset your costs, is some work and having some mechnical issuses worth is to you? I drive 100+ miles a day 6 days a week, and church on sunday. so I'ts worth it to me. It'll scare the living **** out of you at a stop light when you get a smell of your exhaust, smells like your engine is burning up, I work at a shop and drain all oils in my little drain bucket rigged thing and take home and filter, BUT no synthedic, brake, or dex VI. You can go and look all of the info up on the alternitive fuel threads.
