90 spools reallyyyy slow after some work?

I installed a 4" DE exhaust with 4" DP on a 90 cummins 2wd 727 auto....i also put in a dennyT pin and adjusted throttle removed high idle screw etc.....

I backed the star wheel all the way out and smoke screw all the way out and it literally takes 3 seconds for it to spool it's VERY VERY slow....

Did i screw up with the AFC adjustments? do i need to put the starwheel and smoke screw down now? I was trying to clear up some smoke but i don't think the owner really cares. it spools so slow it's rediculous.

oh and i also swiss cheesed the airbox, like ALOT of big holes in it.

What should i do with the AFC? truck has stock turbo w/18.5cm

thanks

you took all the low end fuel away that will slow down the spool up. Let her smoke lol...

What adjustments did you make?
The other question is which part or adjustment caused the problem. Sounds like the same thing I'm having.

I had the starwheel out way too far. i was gonna try and clear up some low end smoke but i sacrificed alot of spooling. keep in mind this truck has a pretty old automatic in it too with 3.07's but i put the starwheel down almost all the way and put the smoke screw 1.5 turn down over stock.

Hum, not the same then. I turned the star wheel up and only lost more power, then I screwed it all the way down and up two. Got my power back but still have the lag. The smoke screw is at the top. I fabbed a spacer for the AFC to bring the fuel pin up higher. That helped some with the smoke.

turn the starwheel down farther, you're having the exact same problem i had. the starwheel has to be screwed down farther than stock.

basicly gotta give a steeper starting point on the fuel cone/pin
