Charlotte and I spent last night getting the old RC ready for the next big adventure.... Heading to Carlisle for the the Chrysler Nationals

I checked some fluids, we made a shopping list for food and snacks. we packed up camping gear, chairs, and other gear. We got out the largest cooler I could find to buy years ago and cleaned it out .

We are looking forward to checking out the crazy, awesome Mopar rigs in the show field and hanging out with our awesome, crazy Mopar friends we see just at this show almost every year.
Hoping to meet a few new DTR'ers this year too.

I fixed the loose '89 stye trim on the doors last night. I had a bunch of the old OEM clips I had saved over the years that where still in good shape. The plastic trim clips that had been on the Ramcharger in the AZ heat where all very brittle and the trim was ready to fly off.
Tonight Charlotte and I will pack the cooler and the rest of the stuff up in the Gauntlet.
My friend Walter and his daughter are too busy this year so they will not be joining us for the show. Instead he has his '85 Ramcharger in my shop so he can finish up the header / dual exhaust along with an Edelbrock intake / carb. install he is working on and hang out with the dogs a bit.

The trip down to Carlisle was a success. Other than the factory oil pressure gauge reading very low and the temp gauge reading higher than my other trucks everything went smoothly. After checking my temp with an infer red temp gun and my oil pressure with a mechanical gauge I can comfortable drive knowing the factory gauges are less than reliable for exact information.

We put almost 1100 miles on the truck over the trip. It was great to see our Mopar friends at the show and for me to spend some quality time with my daughter.

As a guy who had two parents that always where too busy for me, I try to make sure my daughter knows she is important to me and that I want to spend time with her.

From the age of 3, until I was 25 I was lucky if I saw my dad once a year. Many years went by with no call, no contact, no letter.

I got a letter in the mail 2 days ago, telling me my mom who I have not talked to in almost 20 years, just passed away and was buried the next day.

My condolences on you mother. Glad you get time with your daughter. I never had kids but I have a niece and she has two wonderful kids who I cherish. My Dad was a truck driver and we usually only got to see him on weekends. Mom was always there though so we weren't deprived.

Summer flew by...The RC worked like a champ whenever we took it out. Charlotte and I took it to a couple of small local car club shows and enjoyed a few back country drives in it.

It is now safely tucked away along the southern wall of the heated shop for the winter, next Vern's old W-250 and a few 12V crew cabs.
It drove so well last year, I didn't even need to leave a note to myself on the dash of things to fix over the winter for next summer..You gotta love that!

Summer did fly. The older you get, the shorter they are...

Nice to finally get a vehicle to the point where it needs nothing. Hope it stays that way a while!

Well, good point. I do enjoy working on them. BUT, when you have 10 vehicles and 4 tractors, throw in chainsaws, generators and a couple boats it's a good feeling to get at least one where you don't have to think about it!
