I was reading a thread yesterday,but can't find it now.It mentioned something about the head cracking because the 89 motor has 9mm injectors instead of 7mm.Is this a common problem and how many miles on motor before this could happen?
Reason i am asking is that i have purchased an 84 dodge crewcab with an 89 ctd motor in it and i am wondering if i should keep that motor in it or swap my 93 motor in.

you could just swap the head over to a newer head. to be honest I wouldnt worry about it, all heads will crack eventually.

I wouldn't worry about the 9m head until you have turned up the power a lot!

EGT's are some thing the you must watch, no mater what head you us

It's probably already cracked, thousands of 'em go down the road every day with those cracks. Don't worry about it, just keep driving it.
