Are these any different than the 5.9's? I was told the PSI isn't as high on these pumps. I don't really see how that is but the guy that gave them to me works in a military motor pool. He works on these on a regular basis so I hope he knows what he is talking about. I was wondering if I could swap this to my truck.

I have this same question. I have access to 8.3 lift pumps from military trucks too.

We have a truck at work with a 8.3l in it and a P7100 pump so the lift pump is the higher pressure version. But in the shop manual it lists different injection pumps for diff. applications and a lower pressure piston pump for them. Our book had the part number for the higher pressure lift pump but not the lower pressure one. The image in the manual shows the lower psi piston pump has the primer above the fuel inlet. So there might be another low psi type.?

So the PSI on the 8.3L is not low enough for the VE?

If it has an inline pump then yes, the pressure is too high to run without a regulator.
