57mm super S300 vs the upgrade for h1c
They say that the super S300 is only 57mm but the upgrades for are stock turbos are 60mm, my question is will the S300 push more air than a 60mm upgrade.

I would also like to know. Im looking for some air upgrades too. I am torn between the 2 s300s and a hybrid/ht3b twin setup.

I don't plan on doing too much more to the truck than whats in my sig and I don't really do much towing but when i do it's heavy and those custom sticks are probably 380's or 390's not for sure but they make the h1c push 39psi.
Ok you guy's are narrowing it down for me, now what about the BD super B compared to the pdr super S300 or maybe a custom 62mm S300, What do you guy's think.

I've been doing some searching and that's what I come up with so I would say you right, so the only difference between them is price.
So now it's down to the 57mm or the 62mm and if the 57 can push as much if not more air than a hx-40 then that should be good enough for my truck, I would just get the 62 but i'm afraid of turbo lag and the extra 400 dollars.

I run a 62 but I have fuel to push it. Its not bad as for lag. I have had several 2nd and 3rd gen riders with the same turbo and they think it spools as good if not better because we do not have a lock up converter.

The a 62mm or smaller S300 is going to spool just fine. More fuel, to a point, obviously helps spool them. If the price is similar I would get the 62. It will have a little more room to grow and still be street friendly, especially with a 5spd.
I have used a 62, 66, 71mm S300 on other trucks and now I am putting a 57mm on the 92 just because I got it super cheap.
I noticed the $400 difference you mentioned before. You can always upgrade to a 62 later if you want. Both turbos would be good in a set of twins if you decide to go bigger.

Dang man, I want one too to lower the EGT's when towing, I wish they weren't so much monay... For $1000+ it must be a really awesome turbo
When I used to mess with Honda's you could get a new old style T3/T4 for $500. They used the old design bearings, but they were alright.

I believe they are too much also. I scratch my head when you can get an S471sx for $1k but a 62mm S300 can be well over $1k. The worst part is you can't even get a 62mm used for a good price because they are so expensive new. You can get a 66mm S300 cheaper than a 62mm.
They are good turbos. They last really well and do the job. On my brother's 99 we made 545hp on a 62mm.

Get the 62/71/14
That will be a blast with the 5 speed and will support more safe HP over the 57. AND that 62/71/14 will spool just like a 60mm H1C/18.5cm... I think
I see in your sig you have custom injectors? what size are they? if they are any kind of decent size custom made then i guarantee you they are big enough to spool a 62/71/14 and still have a 3rd gen burning truck
That turbo with some nice size sticks will be a blast on that truck. I believe JD730 is running a 62/71/14 on his 14mm pumped truck.
So it will support some good good power in the future, better to do it right the first time around. You will have to run a TRUE 4 inch downpipe becuase the outlet will be 4 inch, but thats no biggie, you can make one or buy one from www.stansheaders.com ... they make complete 4 in exhausts for first gens or you could buy just the dp.
62mm FTW !

I had the Super B (57/65/14) then went to the Super B Special (64/71/14). The Super B is an AWSOME quick spooling turbo it will support about 400rwhp and stay nice and cool under a hard load. (1400egt max with my old set-up) Once I upgraded sticks, pump, and cam I went to the 64mm turbo. This thing spools almost as fast but keep in mind I have WAY more fuel then I used too. If I was going to make a choice it would be the 57mm for 350-400rwhp and the 62mm for around 450-500rwhp. I am looking for lots more so I'm going bigger again!!
