I just read a thread on TDR about this. Guess it was 530 RWHP but with water/methanol inj. Old smokey ran 482 RWHP on just #2 diesel. That's more impressive to me.

I think Jeremy ran 520 on propane and water/methanol injection. He had previously run 420 on #2 alone. Old Smoky ran a 482 on #2 alone. He has yet to get his twins dialed in so he suspects there is more there to get.

It was quite the day. Beautiful weather, even though some that don't really know what hot is, were complaining it was hot. Piers and crew were wonderful host. For those that couldn't make it, try harder the next time!

Sounds like it was a good event. Carl do you know if Piers was planning on posting on his web site.

Very, Very Impressive. What kind of chip did Old Smokey and Jermey use to get those kind of #'s . Seems like yesterday when Nascar Mark was top dog with 300rwhp and 400rwhp seemed out of reach for a VE. Who knows, we may see a 600hp 1st gen.

It was an awesome time/day..... everyone who came had fun.
We had a real "howl" at the back-up derby.... never seen so many road cones get mortally wounded in so short a time.....
As noted the two top dogs were Mike and Jeremy. He really has a great "sleeper" for guys who think they can beat up on a poor old 1st gen....

We had two awards for HP... one was for "Extreme HP" which included "drugs" and other, "High HP" for a VE pumped, no drugs result.....
BTW, Jeremy won one other catagory/award too.... he probably doesn't want to tell y'all about it.... but, he won "Junk Yard Dog" catagory.
That started out as a catagory that a few guys wanted to have for fun. It was for the "Butt Ugliest Truck" award.....
Well, we didn't think the title was quite right so we did "Junk Yard Dog".
Jeremy won that one too.... all becuase he didn't get his truck washed up and detailed before coming up....
I hope he didn't take it as an insult (I don't think he did ) ....let's face it... you
DON'T want to mess with a JYD ever...'specially when he has High HP on #2 only!

We had one fellow who came to the event on a tow truck. Roadhawg came up but he had been playing with some switches and stuff the night before to prepare and on the way up he discovered water in the oil....head gasket
By the end of the day he was just putting his head bolts back on and installing his rockers.
Seems he got some assistance from the crowd/staff and a local tow truck driver who gives our guys good deals on 'hooks'....
At the end of the day were a few burnouts that basically fogged in the entire area ....sssssmokin !!!!!!!
All in all... an awesome time... don't miss it next year guys.... it's growing bigger and better each year..

The following link will give you some information regarding the PDR sponsored First Gen Day event. Apparently more pictures will be added in the near future.

It was a fun event. It was nice to get some time away from turning wrenches and kick back and B.S. It kind of made the sport fun again for me. When you do it for a living it starts to become like any other job. I'm glad I got to "play" some.

Last time I ran on PDR's dyno with a single HX40 I ran 446hp and 1050tq. This time I ran 482 with compound turbos. Torque wasnt checked because of my tach. issue. The turbos still need some "tuning" to get max hp out of them. So far I've seen up to a 75hp difference in power by just messing with the wastegate. New injectors are also in the works. 500hp + is just a few hours of tuning away. But before then - I have to fix charging system issues, a inop. tach, heater core, some wiring.... the list goes on.

I would like to congratulate Jeremy for is work. Great run! It almost makes me want to add some "squeeze" but I think I will just stick to #2 only. There were some other good running rigs too.

I would like to thank everyone involved in this event. Also, everyone for coming. I am looking forward to the next one.

Mike

I would go for the 40 at least.

We had one here go 486 HP uncorrected on a dynojet recently during some injector testing. Single HX40. Im not sure if the 35 is up to a 400 HP task. Mostly from the restriction of the exhaust side.

Although just because no one has tried it does not mean it wont happen.

Thanks for the quick answer Don..But when you put a 16cm housing on a 40.. is'nt that the same Restriction as putting a 16 on a hx35?..Also' which of your injector's did it take to reach 486?..This is a 1st Gen were talking about..right?
