4x4 Getrag Overfill Question
I have read that space constraints, on a 4x4, prevent the installation of a street-ell in the Getrag fill-plug hole, for the purpose of over-filling.
I was just under the son's 90 4x4; and, the best I can see, unless something comes swinging down in there that I can't foresee, I see no reason that I can't go ahead and install a street-ell.
Can I; or, am I missing something??
I changed the fluid and just topped it off flush with the fill-plug, awaiting in-put, before I go ahead and dump the other quart-and-a-half in there.
Thanks.

The 4x4 shifter is usually in the way to add just the straight elbow. Good luck overfilling it there, it would be aweful tight if you could get in there, if at all. See the stickys, or look in my pics, I've got a write up on how I did mine.

Here is your write-up from the sticky:

I plan to use your idea, in combination with the under-hood mounted fill-tube that I saw on the sharp gray/silver truck, with the slide-in camper, at the Kentucky meet (whose name has escaped my feable brain ), along with a couple of improvisations of my own, such as adding an extra vent via the under-hood filler-tube, and possibly utilizing a converted automatic-transmission dip-stick.
Thanks.
