4x4 D60F Brake rotors....
OK I've completely torn the front end apart on my donor 93 W250. I've have been amassing all the parts for a complete rebuild....and I mean everything!
So took a couple days to get that rusty front end apart...now I know what you east coast rust belt guys feel like.... Anyway today I'm cleaning parts and thought I should check out the new rotors I bought. So I dig them out and compare them to the originals...they are a bit different.
The old rotors have a much thicker rotor face. The old ones are about 1.55" thick, and the new ones are only 1.18". Then there is the height of the rotor. The old ones are 3.12" and the new ones are 3.25". Also the hub depth is different too..the old ones are 1.2" and the new ones are 2.08".
I was comparing these dimensions on Rockauto and there seems to be two different size rotors for these 4500 front ends? I ordered Raybestos 7054R, and received older rotors produced by Aimco with an original number of 1015350 or 5350. There was a sticker on them with the 7054R cross reference number.
Now the Aimco number does come up as dodge 4x4 rotors from 93 on back....so I don't know why these rotors have such a difference in design and profiles? Will these rotors still work though?

Think your right....
I looked at Rockauto and here is what I have....3500 axle...
This is what I should have gotten....Raybesotos 7054R for a 4500lb axle
I bought them off E-bay a while back now...don't think I can return them...

I've seen Dodges with either, but all of the GM Dana 60s I have seen have the thicker rotors with the slots.
FYI/FWIW, the 4x4 Cummins trucks ALWAYS used a 4500 pound front axle rating, whether 1 ton or 3/4 ton.

Yes I think that's what happened. I got mine at Napa but ended up having to take an old rotor in so they could match it up. He said there was 2 different options for a Dana 60 and one option for a Dana 44. He did not show me the two differences between the 2 Dana 60 ones though.

stick the wrong rotors in the boxes the correct rotors come in, and return them boxed wrong, all the auto parts places I deal with, believe in human error, and wont question the return.

Guess I won't be buying anything "new in the box" that you would sell to me because the parts store caught onto your shenanigans.
I've fallen victim to that scenario on a few occasions and it sucks when they say you are the dishonest one.
If I am able to, before I leave, I compare the parts.

My truck has the 4500lb axle, and the rotors on top are what I have. No slots in my rotors, and I know they were the original ones, as the P.O. said he never did them (original purchaser of the truck). From what I remember, they're not interchangeable .

its no big deal, take it for what you will, I purchase up to 3k in parts every month, they are accustomed to improperly boxed parts, I get up to 6 a month, from 80-125 receipts, my real problem is living 12 miles from the parts sources, and having to make the "return" trip to correct the matter. my top counter guys do 30-40k gross a week, their suppliers welcome anything deemed warranty or incorrect return

The difference in the rotors is not so much the slots, but in the height of the "hat" and the thickness of the rotor surfaces.
I'm getting a set from NAPA in a couple days...should have gone with them to start...only would have cost me $10 more per rotor to have a place to bring them back to if they were wrong.
