I was driving the other day and my 4wd light just came on and stayed on. Sometimes it will flicker and go off, but then i comes right back on. It will go off I push the transfer case shifter up. The shifter only moves probably a 1/4 inch, but it is enough to make the light go off. The 4wd is not engaging when the light comes on. The light is just coming on and it bugs me cause it is bright orange.

check the plug that is on your trans make sure that its plugged in all the way and its nice and clean that could be a possibility

Check the transfer case switch it might be loose or bad
