47rh swappers???
hey guys, just swapped the 47rh into my truck, unfortunatley i didn't build it up,all i did was a transgo shift kit, i needed it now, an my other tranny convertor took a crap. so anyways my question is..... my tc doesnt seem to fully lockup, also sitting in gear at idle, shouldnt the tc kill the motor when i hit the switch for lockup??? (overdrive an lockup are controled manualy by switches) thanks

Only valve body's that are setup to lock in 1st gear do that. I don't know if the transgo kit will do that.
I know a stock valve body will only lock when the shifter is in drive. And it will not lock in 1st gear, if the switch is on it will lock as soon as it hits 2nd and will shift into 3rd locked and overdrive if you let it. Once its in overdrive it will not come out of overdrive when it locked. You would have to unlock the converter let it shift out of OD and then lock it back up.

Don't do what I did. A stock 47RH should be driven like a stock 95. Don't lock the converter for positive shifts. It will not last. Lock it in whatever gear you want to drive in. Unlock as soon as it lugs. Without the billet cover they baloon real easy when pushed hard in the locked position.
