4" & the cab floor

How much room between the floor pan and the exhaust pipe, around the transfer case, do you guys that run a 4" have? I got mine on a couple of weeks ago and now about 1K later my very tight clearance is reduced to zero. Major vibration anoyance now. No room to twist it. The cab mount doughnuts are original and fatigued I guess. Are there any aftermarket mounts that might buy me a 1/4 inch? What do you guys think about new stock ones with a little shim?

I went with a body lift both for looks and ease with stuff just like the exhaust

they have a 2" body lift right? That would only be about $145 and give you extra clearance needed. You will be surprised how that 2" frees things up.

Not to interested in raising it. I already went through the lift/bigger tire thing with a CJ5 years ago. Summit has energy suspension bushings for 70's D & W
Dodges up through 81-85. Anyone have any idea if these would work on an 89?

CC- with a 4x4, it gets tight up in there. You have to get everything just right, then keep it in place well. Good clamps and brackets.

Yep its hitting on the cab floor downstream of the DP. I have it well clamped and bracketed, or so I thought.

Yep, the clearance on my piece of flex pipe going from the DP through there on mine is at about zero too. There's a few things I did to eliminate the noise. First, I cut about a quarter inch off the top edge of the boss on the xfer case that sticks out that direction. Then I used several layers of polyurethane adhesive to inslate the spots where it was touching the floor. Lastly, I wrapped it with about three layers of duct tape and stuffed it back in there. Seems to be workig pretty well so far.

Mine is so tight when I put in the 4" down pipe I had to replace the ubolt that holds the DP to the bracket on the bell housing with a heavyduty hose clamp. The pipe behind the DP has very little clearance between the transmission and the frame. As a matter of fact it rubs some on the bottom flange of the frame when I travel on the back roads.

A mere two-inch body-lift will work wonders for clearance issues.

I am contemplating removing and raising the actual frame body-mounts on the son's truck a couple inches.

This way, it will be more on the order of a big truck, without the flex issues of simply adding spacer blocks under the cab-cushions.

Mine fit....barely. Lots of twisting, cussing, and throwing tools. Eventually I found the "sweet" spot.

I'll second what JD said. At least with the Stan's there is only one way that puppy fits. I decided to eliminate the bell housing mount and instead made a bracket to fit the two empty holes on the transfer case, 1/2 13 if I recall, and tied it up there. Seems to be working fine so far.
