Yeah egts are up there i also found out my linkage was hitting the fuel line so I did the throttle linkage mod and put a fishing weight on the throttle cable by the peddle for a spacer. I havn't got out on the hyway yet but my truck is mainly a play truck I don't tow much just mostly run around town.

alright got a problem I got on it real hard for 5 sec or so then backed out of it went and parked it turned the key off and it wouldn't die I finally got it to kill by turning some lever under the throttle linkage but I'm not sure how this kill system works on this truck. I see some sort of line that looks like a brake line is it getting too much fuel? Can y'all help me out.

Well my friend, your shutoff solenoid failed.

This happens when you tweak the fuel screw .

No big worry, look in the sticky for the mod you can do the shutoff solenoid tip to make it live (of course by a new one first because yours fell apart.)

Or hook a cable from your lever to you interior and that will be your primary shutdown of the truck.

two choices.... pick one

Clear as mud?

Or put some bigger injectors in it. More power, and you can still turn the key to kill the engine.

Pull cables are cool anyways .

get a locking one and it can also be used as a security device. pull it out, lock it in the out position and whatever idiot wants to steal your truck will try to start it and it will just crank vigorously and they will get mad and run away.

I haven't heard of many people trying to steal 1st Gens. They are to dumb to think they are worth anything.

One look at a first gen, well its leaking, its ugly, it leaks, it does'nt have a straight body panel on it, its rotted to no end. They immediately turn around right then. Thats how ours is anyway.

Just last year someone tried to break into JimLane's beautiful truck.
