Talking 307 hp with stock trans and leaky fuel pump

Well I finally dynoed today for the first time. With all the mods in my sig I made 307 hp on my best run.

1st run: I made 280hp with it in Overdrive and the KSB off,
2nd run: I made 292hp with it in Overdrive and the KSB on
3rd run: I made 307 hp with it in 3rd and the KSB on.

I was surprised and happy with the results. Nothing broke or anything and it made more than I thought it would. I was guessin I would make between 250 and 280hp and I told myself I'd be pretty happy if i broke 300hp. This surprised me where i still have this stock A518 trans that has been slippin a little and I think the throttle shaft O-ring on my VE pump is leaking (not sure how much difference it made). It paid off though, I have been workin on my truck for the past two weeks to get it ready and stayed up til 1:30 last night to finish things up for this morning. I'm pretty happy with the results. I hit 42 lbs of boost while on the dyno and the stock headgasket held! and It didn't even get past 1500 degrees.

It was on a Superflow dyno, and i ran in the stock class, and I was the only 1st gen there, and the only one with a hood stack ha ha some guy even asked my friend what chip I had on it ha ha They dyno sheets showed really solid steady horsepower, they didn't show/give a tq# though.

I'll post pics of the dyno sheets and get the video up of it soon!

They didn't give torque most likley due to them not putting a tach sensor on the engine. At our dyno day they do not take the time to put on the sensor due to the high volume of trucks. It just takes to long.

superflow dyno's are the good ones to run on. i second the tach sensor hook up. the last event i went to with the truck club i'm in was at westech performance group in mira loma, ca. they were hooking up the tach sensor. there were 2 guys working the trucks tying them down and whatnot. while one finished up the other slide under the truck, slapped the tach sensor on and it was ready to go. they were good about it and fast too!

Nice job 92, I'll bet you'll see those numbers climb when you tighten up your tranny.

Strange that you got better numbers in direct drive, I haven't seen that before.

Good numbers for a stock TC.

I know, I wish i coulda got a tq number, But there was quite a few trucks there later on, luckily I was like the 10th one on that morning so i didn't have to wait too long. Some of the guys were sayin that the dyno was set to 20% load all morning and they bumped it up to 50% on some trucks later on which got much higher numbers, So I may even have a little more hp if i had a higher load, but then I woulda risked breakin stuff more, So I'm alright with it, I'm pretty happy with the results.

307hp is almost twice the stock hp and I haven't done that much or have that much money into it so I am happy. I know i probably had one of the lower hp trucks there but I know i had a lot less money into it and could still double my stock hp number. Also bein an old 1st gen, my lighter truck makes up for the less power when it comes to racing and such. I'm definately happy and was proud to say that it still had the ol rotary VE pump when the guys there were askin about it. Its Definately a good base number to know where to go from here, but i can't wait to get a built 47rh in it and see how much difference it makes.
