3" to 4" V-band adapter? Do they exist?
Well I want to look into setting up a 4" DP for the ol' gal', but I want to go ahead and have a 4" v-band flange on it for, ahem, possible turbo upgrades. I was wondering if any one knows of a 3 to 4 inch adapter that will allow me to get by with the H1C for a bit, I dont want to build or buy a 4" dp twice. Once I upgrade to a better turbo I figure I could just knock off the adapter and slip the DP forward...

I don't know of anything already made, but it would be possible to make something up with a 4" flange and a 3" flange with a piece of sheet metal specially cut and rolled (a cone) to reduce from 4" to 3".
I don't think your going to sliding the pipe forward to much, turbos like the HTB2 and the like are a bit longer than the old WH1C/H1C. I used a 4" down pipe from Rip and I cut about 3/8" to 1/2" off of it where I put the flange on. I did it with the flange clamped on the turbo so I could make sure the down pipe was secured on the trans by its mount without stressing anything or fighting with it on the install later after I welded it.
This is just me, but I would cut and weld a 4" flange in when the time came, but I realize not everybody has the ability or the equipment to do that.

Space is limited when putting in a four inch down pipe. I know I just did mine a month or two ago. To get the three inch flange to work on the four inch pipe I had to shorten a 4x3 bell reducer to 1 3/4 inches and weld it to the flange and the four inch elbow. When I upgrade to the next turbo I will simply cut the reducer off and fit up and weld the four inch flange off of a late model down pipe.

Sweet! I didnt know such an animal existed, im going to have to pick one up. Seems how my welds broke on the 3-4 flange adapter deal (weld was too cold) I'll just simply remove the adapter n weld a 4 inch flange, then use this little puppy. Piers was thinkin when they did that!
