2nd gen piston lift pump Checklist??

Hey Guys,
Well, apparentely the fuel was allready turned up in my truck, Ive only been driving it a month, but I could not tell because It harly ever spit black smoke, and was weak as crap. Then I put Denny's pin In there and the truck woke up. I can dump black smoke now anyway, 8o% if the smoke is at low boost and just a tick of smoke after that but I went to check the fuel screw status and im pretty sure its been turned most of the way down. The screw looks almost against the collar and theres allready enough smoke to go around and I dont need more. The thing that makes me nervous is that, about every 1 in 40 starts, the trucks will roll over about 5 times, which yall know if these things dont crank on the first r sencond roll, something is up. Anyway I can mash the gas one time and the truck fires up. But Ive been doing some reading on the lift pumps and have read that if the fuel is turned way up with a stock lift pump, that the pump will push 0 psi and act almost as a hindrance with the injector pump pulling its own fuel. I bought a 2 gen piston lift, that was brand new and the boy ran for a week. Ive got the pump, 4 screws, a spacer for the pump, and thats it. Im calling Vulcan tomorrow to see how much their regulator is, and I know their is information in the sticky, but what hardware am i going to need besides 1/2 inch hose from tank to lift pump to make this system work well? Thanks guys

From what I have been told, a regulator can be anywhere from $100-$300. I don't know how accurate that is though, as I haven't looked into it.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Aeromotive makes nice regulators, I'm running #13204, adjustable from 3-15psi. Around 150 IIRC.

We still have them. Not sure why Eric does not have them on the site. Give us a call in the morning.

Or you can get this swagelok adjustable cracking pressure check valve on a tee: B-8CPA2-3

http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...part=B-8CPA2-3

I've got the 1/4" version right now, and think its too small, going to get this one and try it out, I think it'll flow much better and control pressure better.

oh its about $50

I got started putting mine on today. I too used the Aeromotive#13204.

http://summitracing.com/parts/AEI-13204/

I am using 1/2" lines, it is kind of a PITA.
