2nd or 3rd gen shift lever? (5 speed)

How does one install a newer-style shift lever? Do they have the same threads?

ive used one from a dakota in my 91. its shorter, which i liked. ymmv.

Wait so a nv3500 dodge dakota shifter fits on a G360 getrag? lol i see them dodge dakotas in the boneyard all over the place.

i dunno what trans the dak had. iirc it was out of a 90, it threaded right on the base on my gutbag. i might try it in my 92, but i dunno how it will feel with my captains chairs.
