250-275hp injectors...?

What are your suggestions for the best injectors to get in the 250-275hp range with a non-intercooled VE pumped engine? I know about POD's but would prefer something with less smoke issues, unless other tuning can really clean up POD's. Thanks....

On a non-intercooled engine, with stock injectors pump tweaks should get you there pretty easily as the injectors are larger than the intercooled trucks. I do recommend a pyrometer at the minimum before you start making changes. No need to melt aluminum needlessly.

What Mike said I'd say I'm putting 250-260 to the ground with my wore out stockers. I just recently tried some pods for a couple weeks and I would say they were good for about 35-40 horse at the wheels, but the smoke and the heat and the poor in-town economy had me replacing them with the stockers just as fast as my wrenches would twist

I posted not too long ago about how the thinner .020in. washers really helped my truck with the POD smoke. Since then the station where i fuel up has also switched to the new ultra low sulpher fuel (15ppm). Between the thinner washers and the lower sulpher in the fuel my truck is smoking very little, almost to the point where I am considering leaving the POD`s in there. I was thinking about some DDP`s, but for the winter at least the POD`s will stay. They are good HP for the money but they are a compromise no doubt. If I had it to do over again (and I had a non-IC`ed truck) I`d stick with the stockers until I needed bigger sticks for bigger HP #`s, no sense in compromising, esp since non-IC injectors already move a good amount of fuel. my $.02

Thanks for excellent info, guys [as usual]

Trying to get my 4BT ready so I'm looking at hp/torque results from 6 BT's then dividing by 6, multiplying by 4 and seeing where I'll be! A 275hp 5.9L setup should put me at 180+ hp with 3.9L and that's more than enough for my use. Also started another thread on H1C and I'm thinking the H1C on the 4 cylinder might help cool better than on a 6 cylinder so I can safely push it a little harder, maybe. Marine 4BTA's with unlimited coolant water put out a solid 250hp! Thanks...

No. The non intercooled injectors have 9 mm tips, the intercooled headd only have a 7 mm bore.
