205 t-case help

Anyone got a core t-case lying around? The front yoke nut spun off last night (yes, it had loktite on it) the driveshaft dropped and apparently the outputshaft slid backward enough to toast the needle bearings in that little retainer. The retainer is froze to the shaft, so it spun in the aluminum cover, ruining the cover as well I've already contacted quad4x4 to see what they can do. These are the only bearings I didn't touch during the rebuild Anyhoo, if I can't patch this one up for a c-note or two, old moldy is going to e-bay---once piece at a time

Sorry to hear about that. A place by me ( in Clarence) is United 4 Wheel Drive. Their # is (716) 759-7420 ask for Matt he really knows his stuff and might be able to help you out. I also know of one in a truck at a scrap yard around the corner from me but the guy is a pain to deal with and I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy. But as a last resort maybe. Their place is called Howbill's and the # is (716) 496-5772 or (716) 652-1651. If you need to call Howbill's call the # listed first because the idiot doesn't work at that one. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I appreciate the #'s. I'm gonna sit on it over the weekend to let myself calm down before I take a sawzall to the dirty sunofapup I can't probably get but half what I've got into it for parts, but the line has to be drawn at some point---I'll try and find a cleaner one next time

Talking

I know exactly what you're talking about. I have roughly $3000-$3500 in just parts and body on mine. The truck will run with the best of them. However the truck is still rot box and that will inevitably be it's undoing. At least I can keep it as a second truck for employees to drive (and abuse) this summer and grab something else from down south where the body won't look like swiss-cheese. I also have some slight grinding in my TC and ideas?

There's an intermediate shaft that couples the two outputshafts. The bearings are set up with select-fit shims and a sleeve, kind of like the pinion on our d70's. As the bearings wear, the sleeve will tend to rattle around on the shaft. It doesn't cause much damage, but is the reason I tore mine down.

Sleeve and shaft:

This guy has some parts. I just saw it on craigslist the other day. I know it's a little far from you but may be worth a shot. http://boise.craigslist.org/pts/271865120.html
