For some reason, I hate the look of lifted trucks. A couple inches is OK, but a truck that is way off the ground with huge tires, doesn't appeal to me at all.

I don't like the idea of changing the chassis geometry. My crew is going to be my first Solid axle 4x4 and I'm going to leave it stock height with stock wheels and tires , well that were stock for the 1990 w250 anyway. Stock rims with stock caps n rings and 235/85R16. Springs neutral or slightly neg arch in the front and stock rear springs.

When the economy goes to poop, first thing to go are the toys. The AMC club I am in is seeing the same thing, alot of people desperate to sell due to job loss (real bad in the midwest with all the auto parts suppliers laying off like crazy... Ohio is in bad shape) so the prices are going down because people need to sell the toys to pay the rent. Now is a nice time to go toy shopping if you have saved your pennies...

Right on target Keith. I did a Pittsburgh Craigslist.org search this morning for Dodge. The first item that came up was a 2004 Dodge Cummins 4x4 2500 124,000 miles listed at $9300 which is about $8K - $10K less than they were just two months ago. I may have to consider buying a newer truck if this trend continues!

That a gasser? I have heard the gassers are almost free now... that might have improved a little bit since the price of fuel has come down from the $4/gal high.

Yup, could only get $3800 for my 1993 W250, club cab LE truck with a built auto, disc brake rear, 33's, skyjacker 2" front springs, etc. It did hurt.

unless you need to sell it price doesn't really matter to me. i paid 12k back in 2000 for mine with 75k miles and no dents or rust. i always run rigs forever so i really don't mind. saw a one ton 4x4 being parted out in portland craigslist i think it was 2 or 2.5k. works for me. maybe they will pay you to drive them off.
