Thanks MoPowa. I actually want to add a grille surround to the bumper-there's a LOT of deer and moose collisions here and if it was to save me from shoving the grille thru the fan it'd be worth the effort.
KD93-I figured better there than the middle of the dash. Seriously, I really WAS thinking of the middle of the dash to cover some hole the p/o graciously put there. And yes, she's one of our 3-1/2 heelers. 3 & 1/2 'cause we've got one crossed with a pug.

well, at least he didn't put it on the dash!

love the idea, hope to build my own bumpers someday, hope you don't mind a few folks copying the idea!

I Don't Really know. That's how it was ordered from the factory. Dana 70, 4:10's and a getrag 5spd. And it will haul a**. 75mph is what I cruise at every day to and from work. Thats why I call it the hotrod.

then why does it say "slushbox" in your sig? 4:10s are common with 5-speeds, and all first gen diesels came with Dana 70s.

Slush box is an old car term we use around here meaning manual trans. I didn't know it really mean't anything else aside from a half worn out manual trans 3,4 or 5 speed. As I stated in the begining when I introduced myself to this forum earlier this year. This is my first introduction to a first generation cummins truck. I've wanted one ever since I was a kid. And after reading everyone else's signatures the only thing I had to put in mine was what the truck is as far as body and drivetrain due to it being stock. Everyone else has 4 and 5in. stacks, 3 pin, bhaf, pyro, kneuter valve, muffler bearings, etc... I can't hang with all that. but slowly I'm learning after reading the stickys and forum posts.

I've always heard "slushbox" used in reference to automatics. You're the first person I've heard use it in reference to a manual trans. Maybe that's where the confusion comes from. Some of us thought you were saying it had a 727 in it with 4.10's. That would net you about 55mph for a top speed.
