1st Gen Engineering/Product Development
Hey fellow 1st genners,
I'm finishing up my last semester of college, which involves a course dedicated to CAD/CAM/FEM, etc. From the description the professor gave, it sounds like a very open-ended design course. We're tasked with developing a product or redesigning an existing product using CAD,CAM, and other computer-aided engineering methods. I'm searching for ideas, and wondered if you guys could help. I'm looking for something that could be reasonably developed within a semester by our team and benefit the first gen performance community.
Thanks in advance

something that would help the engine breathe better and grab the air from outside not from in the engine compartment that would be made out of sheet aluminum ..we could pop rivet it together and use a inexpensive air cleaner that flows more i have a 9x4 air duct that has two pc of air con foam now but it takes up a lot of room

Fab up a polished version of the injector removal tool. Look in the stickey. Or a nice hinged and gasketed Hvac clean out access door. Dont try to reinvent the wheel, just find something we each have to jerry rig and make it very nicely.

Yes, plus while we are speculating, how about a NEW shift cover and possibly some upgraded synchro assembly's. Now that we're dreamin', a better countershaft bearing setup. It could put the NV4500 to shame.
This guy is doing some really cool stuff for the old A-833's:
