1st and 2nd gen flex plate = same?
I know that a getrag and a nv-4500 can use the same flywheel.
What about the autos and the flex plate?

Yes the first gen and second gen flex plate will interchange. The second gen flex plate is just a little thicker than the first gen so it is a little stronger.
