1993 CTD 4X4 shifts?

HI you all! I just bought a 93 250 and the trans has been just rebuilt by a Dodge dealer by the PO. I was having some lock-up issues, and cleaned my TPS. The question I have is... How many shifts am I entitled to counting lock-up? 3 and lock-up or 4 and lock-up? And what trans do I have? Thanks, Artie

93's never had lockup transmissions from the factory. They had the A518 4 speed overdrive automatic non-lockup. You should be able to feel 3 shifts to get into overdrive.

OK, Thanks JD730! So in overdrive there will be some converter slippage, which is normal.... Thanks, Artie

Slippage in overdrive???? You betcha! The stock torque converter is very loose by todays standards. Some of us have "bit the bullet" and upgraded for better efficiency and tighter shifts. You can convert to a lockup torque converter and 47rh tranny for the right money.
