1992 d250 od help
I managed to get the codes from the key and they are 36-37 and 45. Will 36 or 37 prevent the od from working? The valve body is the no-lockup type, I dont understand were the 37 even comes from..
One more question while im here,, Going "to" the od solenoid I have two wires. One is thick and blue an the other is skinny and orange with a black stripe. Which is positive?
I get continuity between the big blue wire and the frame, does this mean its negative?

What do the codes mean? I am unfamilar with them. The OD system on these trucks are very simple. Did you try adjusting the TPS sensor? what is the OD doing?
the middle one is power and the outside is ground for the OD.

Codes 36 and 37 are not listed in the FSM. Code 45 is a OD solenoid code. An open or shorted condition detected in the OD solenoid circuit.
The blue wire is the power feed wire to the OD. The other wire goes to the PCM. It is the solenoid ground wire.

92 OD issue
I just got the truck a few months ago 1992 d250 5.9L EFI HDC the od supposedly worked but it didnt, I put about 200 miles on it no od at all. It was suggested to me that the od switch and maybe the od solenoid was bad and to replace it and while i was there I put a Transgo tfod-jr shift kit in it plus new filter 9 quart of atf+4.. I did that allong with putting in a new ($80) od dash switch an it still didnt shift. So i Presumed the tranny had an internal problem and needed to be rebuilt. The other day I get in for a short drive to the store and the od kicked in..... I drove around for about 20 more minutes stopping and going and using the od dash switch, Od woul kick in at about 38-40mph with hardly no throttle and @ about 45-48 with slight throttle, seemed to work perfect.. I get it back home shut it off jump back in a few hours later and no od.
Allso I get continuity between big blue od solenoid wire and the frame but not with orange/blackstripe od wire and frame.. Dont know if that matters.
The valve body is the non-lockup type.
The key codes i get are below. They are listed in both Haynes and Chilton.
36= Speed controll switch allways high.
37=Torque converter cltch solenoid open or shorted ,CKT circit
45=Od solenoid circit shorted or open
Thanks for your responses guys

Ah, this is a gasser then?
There should not be continuity between the blue wire and ground, the blue wire supplies power to the OD solenoid when the key is on. The orange/black wire is switched ground through the PCM.
