Glad you didn't fail on this one though.
I remembered reading A thread here someplace that several guys said their brake adjusters didn't work. I figured I better check them.

Once I figured out why they didn't work. Moving the hole seemed like the easiest solution.

Typical Homerism butchering of a good addage.

To try risks failure.
Not to try guarantees failure.

My wife is a propnent of this, except she mostly succeeds at failure, by not trying at all because of fear of failure, vs trying and failing. Very successful at failing, either way..

My wife accuses me of that. but sometimes I can see failure coming and the only way to avoid it is to avoid the the whole situation in the first place.

This morning I stripped the outer parts off my front axle to do the king pins. One cone was a real PITA. I ended up heating the knuckle up pretty hot before it popped loose.
now to go take out the lower bearings

while dissembling this mess I noticed the drivers side bushing was missing the retainer that goes between the spring and the bushing was split and deformed. good thing I am one of those "while I am in there" guysI started to replace a stub axle and bearing.
The king pin kit I ordered didn't have the retainers either. But I need to order a slinger for the stub axle anyway.
