Well it clears. I need to work on the rods now. And maybe a brace to the transmission or a stiffener for the bracket.

Not much done this week. I got the rods welded up and painted. I just drilled four holes in each end of the tube and plug welded the cut off bolts in.

I came up with the idea for a clutch linkage for one of my projects a couple years ago. I used a fixture like the one for the bigger tubing on the shift rails to drill the holes.

And yesterday I welded a stiffener to the transfercase shifter bracket.

some more from this week. At least now I am not so worried about the higher humidity rusting my floor.

WOW...
I don't know what else to say, but you have done well.
The twin sticks came out great, and that floor looks smooth and clean.
If you a beer drinker, you deserve one.
If not, I am going to have one for you right now.

and the floor had a little rust that I wanted to take care of while I was there.
I brushed the primer on this time. The thinking was no masking and no over spray. After all it is a floor that will get covered with a rubber mat. So brush streaks won't be seen.
It came out better than I expected. Next week I will do the paint the same way but I want to seam seal the places that I removed the sealer from and around the trans hump on both top and bottom.
I am no longer a beer drinker because of the medication I am on won't tolerate it So I am glad you could have one for me. hope it was a good one.

I got some done this morning. Got the seam sealer spread and the first coat of red paint. I have to remind myself that it is just a floor and a friendly one it that. it waves at you infact there are waves everywhere
Anyway one step farther.

Yeah it's red for sure. it will get redder with the second coat my wife thinks It would be a good color to paint the rest of the truck when the time comes. It will remain some form of red because it is too hard to change colors and have it look right. Besides I have seen a red first gen that is a beautiful truck. the two tone is still up in the air though. If I do go with a two tone I think I will go with a darker grey than it has? now
