1990 D250 injectors

I,m helping a buddy work on his stock 1990 d250 automatic non-intercooled and we were wondering if it is okay to install a slightly larger injector in this truck. There will most likely be no other mods done, so wondering if there will be to much smoke and driveability problems. The truck tows heavy most of the time. Also will the injectors for a 1991-1993 fit in a 1990, and which injectors should he get stock or modified? Thanks for any responses.

THe 90 has the large injectors 91.5-93 use smaller ones if your looking for more power get gauges and turn the pump up a little and do the 3200GS your week link is the TC in the trans it just doesnt put power to the ground real good the 3200GSK will make that better too

first off if you are getting injectors it is importand to have a pyro. As for smoke if you get lucas prince of darkness (PODs) injectors they smoke a lot. but if you get bosch 190 the are a clean burning injector. but the pods do give you more power. i think bosch even make 185 injectors. those are about the only options for injectors for these year trucks, and they are the same injectors that are in the intercooled trucks. The only difference is that you must get the copper adapter kind for the non ic trucks. the non ic come stock with bigger injectors. in my oponion i think i would make some tweaks the the fuel pump that are free before i would spend a lot of money on injectors JMO. but i know when i put PODs in my truck my egts got pretty warm, but that was with a lot of fuel pump mods. If you dont mind smoke and haze at idle PODs are great bang for the buck.

The 190's are a nice towing injector, but they are not much bigger than the stockers on a non-intercooled truck. Anything less than POD's is a waste of money on a non-intercooled truck. Just turn the fuel screw in a little (guided by a pyrometer, of course).

You can use the later model injectors in the older trucks, but you need a sleeve adapter to do so. It replaces the copper washer on the bottom of the injector body and fills the gap to the 7 mm injectors fit nicely in the 9 mm hole.

I would not put POD's on a truck that tows heavy most of the time, it's gonna get way too hot, plus the smoke and fuel economy issues.

just a quick question. I have a set of 370's in my 94 Dodge right now. due to the spray pattern I can not go over s certin amount of timing before it starts shooting outside of the fuel bowl. I have been told that I could use the tips off of a 90's model Dodge on my 370 body and they would fuel pretty good and have the right pattern for higher timing. My question is do the injectors in my 93 have a bigger hole and a smaller body than the( 9 MM) I thought I knew but after reading this I got a little confused. *you guys need to stop doing that to me*

The 9 mm nozzles are only in the non-intercooled trucks.

What injectors are you running in the '93? The stockers would be wimpy, but the nozzles would fit.

Can you put the 370 nozzles on the 93 stock injector body? Or the Non I/C injector nozzles on the I/C injector body?

After reading everyone's opinion so far, i think it might be best to replace with the stock injectors. We regularly tow around 13,000 to 14000 lbs (round bales) on a gooseneck trailer. Where is a good place to purchase bosch injectors and how do you think they should cost.

I'm not sure where the best price for stockers would be found, but if you can't find them for under $500 then 190's are the way to go. If the truck can be down a few days you can get the originals cleaned and repopped, that would be the cheapest option.
