1986 w100 electrical problem

Hey guys, I have an old 86 w100 straight 6 4-spd farm truck that lost all power. I was getting a round bale, and it just shut off. No lights when I turn the key, no bueno. Nothing, its like the battery was disconnected. I've heard of bad fuselinks and resistors, but I don't know where to start troubleshooting. Even the fuse panel is dead. any of ya'll have an idea what may be wrong with it and where to start? Thanks in advance.

Start with the battery. If it has juice, check the ground next. Ground good? Move on to the Positive batery cable. The fuse links run down the driver side wheel well in the engine compartment.

Do a search and you will find several threads on replacing the fusible links with a fuse box instead of repairing the links.

There are pros and cons to this but I think that is the way I will go if the need ever arises.

check your grounds to the engine/frame/body. the dodge cables suck, i replaced mine with 2/0 welding cable, much better. i had a plymouth acclaim, that had lost all power, and we couldnt figure out why. at night, the dew would condensate under the hood, and complete the already poor ground connection from battery to body/frame ground, and all would work again. a new cable, we were back up and running.
