I have 1700 dollars in my pocket and its burning a hole quick. I was looking around and i just cant decide what to spend it on for my pick up. I want it to have a little pick up and go and just get it ready for other power modifications down the road.

Any ideas of what i should drop my 1700 into?'

Get some gauges and a 366 spring. $300 worth of stuff. It will be a totally different truck. Save the 1400 for an emergency.

Seriously though, gauges first, denny T fuel pin(105 shipped)..smaller turbo housing(100 -200),4" exhaust(400-500), BHAF or k&n filter(35-95). Whole different truck with pump mods. my 2cents

I have Autometer Z series and i like them, they seem to be pretty popular. Go to genos when you get your stuff. Dont buy a glowshift pod i heard the angles were wrong and it makes the gauges hard to see.

Get a pyro and a boost gauge. Isspro are good.

Don't get a 30PSI boost gauge. You might outgrow it someday. Get a 45 - 60 PSI gauge.

Pyrometer should read to at least 1500 degrees (but you don't want to ever get that hot!)

I agree with Jet100 send it to me and i'll let you see what I could buy lol. The guys are right gauges 1st.. Don't discount the Stewart Warner gauges. They are American made too and i've found some real deals on them. The best deal I found was on the big auction was Stewart Warner pyrometers was 4 or 5 months back I got 5 of the 3'' 1800 degree gauges for $28 bucks total--p/n 111411. Then for another $50 bucks I got 8 various gauges also by S/W. Shop around like a cheapskate and you can find some deals. DennyTstg2 pin, turbo housing or a HE351CW or the HY??? turbo for cheap upgrade, BHAF, 4'' downpipe, probably stacks if you like, full fuel screw turned in for free, throttle adjustments "free power", maybe some injectors "used", and have maybe just maybe some change left if you shop like me. By all means have fun doing it and fun playing with your ole truck. Good luck with it.

EGT/boost/ fuel psi gauges.... and an aftermarket torque converter to get your future power to the ground, or even your stock power to the ground!!!

A smaller turbine housing, 3200 gov. spring, freeflow intake/exhaust and some small pump tweaks is the best things ever for under $500 (depends on exh. and intake pricing, you could make it.)

*trans temp regardless of auto or manual
*A-pillar pod if its a 91.5+ truck
*column pod If its a 91.5+ truck
*fuel pressure gauge
*2nd gen 12 valve piston lift pump
*BHAF
*Gov spring
*Syntetics in trans if getrag
*Torque convertor if automatic
*find a USED larger turbo, something with a 60 MM compressor, dont waste your time with H1C upgrading
*large bore exhaust, at least a 4" DP

Not neccesarily in that order, but Gauges, BHAF, and Gov spring are top priority. Then exhaust, trans maintenance, and turbo. After that its up to you

If you have an auto I would find a nice torque convertor to your liking, from what I have seen and heard on the forums, there just isnt anything like a Goerend. I would suggest that before a nice aftermarket turbo.

If you got a manual trans, the stock Sachs clutch will take some abuse, but if you like to get heavy on the loud peddle, expect a clutch to be in your future if you go after a better turbo and lots of free fueling tweeking.
