Don't throw in the towel yet. Check the part number they are ordering in for you. They may be selling you a kc09100bk which is a 2.5 spacer for later model 2wd dodge 1500's. I think it would be too much lift for a first gen but it retails for around 120 bucks. It may not be a case of getting taken but instead a case of the wrong part.

This little saga turned out good. I took copies of prices from the internet with me to the shop. Told him that I couldn't take the spacers due to the price. Additionally told him that he might have gotten the price mixed up with another item when he looked it up. He researched it and agreed that he probably did so he refunded the balance and charged me $44. for the spacers. I'll always have to wonder what would have happened had I not questioned it, would the money had gone into the business or his pocket or was it an innocent mistake. Thank you all for your information & moral support. I still feel like a dummy. Packratc

It happens to most of us every once in a while, Packratc. It's good to hear the guy agreed with you. Most places would have just shrugged their shoulders, essentially saying, "It's not our problem." Not a lot of places will go out of their way to research and resolve an issue. You don't find that often anymore. Sounds like it was an honest mistake to me. Glad he helped you out the way he did.
