14cm. wastegated housing?
Are any of ya'll running one.I was wondering what the egt's would be like compared to a 16cm. non wastegated housing?I tow alot and need a housing that will work for that.By the way its an h1c.

There are a lot of happy guys driving around with the 16 cm housing. The 14 cm housings -wasted or not- are very pricey. The general concensus is that the 16 is the best all-around housing for a 1st gen.

Would it be any advantage to get a w/gated one? And,I guess i will have to shorten my downpipe. That might be tough,I have a 4in. downpipe.Dont know how far back it will go before hitting.Anyone done that on a 4 incher? Is a 14cm to small to tow with?I can get one for a good price considering they are pretty high.

Wastegated housings are nice because you can control the boost to keep the turbo in the range where it is efficient. I wouldn't suggest using a non-wastegated housing any smaller than a 16 cm on a modified truck because it's easy to overspeed the turbo.
All the smaller housings are longer than the 16 cm and larger units. The non wastegated 12 and 14 cm housings are externally the same as the wastegated ones, they just don't have the mechanism or any of the ports drilled for the wastegate. I think that 4" downpipe is going to limit you to a 16 cm housing, but with 4.10 gears in a towing application that's probably not a bad thing.
